To date, Collette Vacations have given 665 Hippo Water Rollers to rural South African communities directly benefitting at least 5,000 people.

In the past 4 years the Collette Foundation has delivered these Hippo Rollers to the village of Kgautswane (Limpopo, South Africa) helping to change many lives.

In April of 2011 the Collette Foundation sent another group of ambassadors to Kgautswane to deliver 165 Hippo Water Rollers.

The Collette Foundation was launched in 2007 to help children around the world. With over 150 volunteers who establish & manage projects in Australia, China, Costa Rica, Ireland, Italy, Kenya, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, South Africa and the U.S.

The foundation is supporting rural communities in South Africa by supplying Hippo Water Rollers. The use of these rollers in remote villages allows a safer way to collect water, as children were carrying too much weight on their backs, and they can collect 5 times the amount of water they used to in one trip.

Listen to Allison Villasenor, programs manager for the Collette Foundation, describe these water carrying containers and how their innovative design has allowed for a much easier and less labour intensive collection of water in the villages surrounding the Kgautswane region (north of Kruger National Park).
