Hippo Water Roller handover by Nedbank Foundation to the Mbashe communities in Eastern Cape October 2010A major South African bank, Nedbank Foundation, sponsored 450 Hippo Water Rollers on 12 October 2010 to the communities of Idutywa,  Willowvale, and Eliotdale in the Mbashe District near Butterworth, in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa.

This was followed by a further sponsorship of 450 rollers on 16 November 2010 to the communities of Acornhoek and Cottondale in Mpumalanga province, near Timbavati (en route to Kruger Park’s Orpen Gate).

The handover ceremonies were attended by community leaders and beneficiaries, and Nedbank senior management.

Brand awareness was enhanced by manufacturing the Hippo rollers in Nedbank corporate colours and included their logo on the screw-cap.

The Nedbank Foundation has committed to expand the project significantly over the next three years benefitting many more households countrywide.
