We´ve received wonderful encouragement from our supporters in the build-up to the 6th World Water Forum (WWF) in Marseille, France. Thank you for that. Find below a few photos of our activities this week. We are grateful for the media exposure on both French and SA news channels. The WWF provides a valuable collaboration platform and in our next update we will report back on some of the outcomes of this important event.

On Monday, the French media showed interest in the Hippo roller stand at the Factory Technology section of the Village of Solutions (photo above).South Africa´s SABC News included a clip on the WWF and the Hippo roller on Wednesday night. A quote from the SABC’s website:“While problems are being discussed, solutions to the many problems around water are being touted at this major gathering. This South African invention, the hippo water roller, was among just a few selected from thousands to be exhibited.

“There’s a lot of interest in South America and India, anywhere really where there’s no development, no infrastructure,” explained Grant Gibbs, Hippo Water Roller.

Kids at the Knowledge pavilion tested the Hippo roller for themselves.

As a social enterprise the main focus of the Hippo Water Roller Project is to distribute sponsored Hippo rollers in partnership with NGO’s and donors to rural impoverished communities where access to water is limited.

We receive many requests for smaller quantities of rollers and have therefore set up the Hippo Roller Shop to facilate direct orders online.
