A message from the Hippo Roller Foundation

We are deeply inspired by the incredible impact happening in Kavimba Village, Chobe region, where Machaba Safaris generously donated 15 Hippo Rollers to support families facing long, difficult journeys to collect water.

For many rural households, accessing water means carrying heavy buckets over long distances, often on steep, uneven terrain. The 90L Hippo Roller changes this reality by allowing water to be rolled along the ground, reducing physical strain and saving hours each week. These hours can now be redirected toward school, work, family, and rest.

Seeing the joy in Kavimba, through singing, dancing, and unity, reminded us why this work matters. The donation ceremony was honoured by the presence of the Paramount Chief of the Basubiya communities (Kgosi Munitenge Lawrence Liswaani Sinvula III), the District Commissioner, and the Chobe Council Chairman, reflecting the significance of this moment for the community.

We are grateful to Machaba Safaris for recognising that true conservation includes uplifting the people who live alongside the wilderness. Their commitment to improving daily life through access to water is a powerful example of sustainable, community-driven impact.

Thank you, Machaba Safaris, for rolling hope, dignity, and opportunity into Kavimba Village. Together, we are moving water and changing lives.
