It’s amazing what people do to raise awareness about the global water crisis and to promote access to water.  Mena Guli quit her corporate job in 2012 to set up water advocacy charity Thirst. She is now running 40 marathons in 40 days to promote access to water.

“The point of all of this is not just to run but to tell stories about the water crisis. By the year 2030, the demand for water is set to increase by 40 per cent if we carry on consuming on the existing trajectory. The world’s water supply simply cannot cope.” – Mena Guli

The Hippo Roller is also promoted this year by another ultra marathoner, David Barnard, running the Big Red Run desert race in Australia. Read more about David’s efforts to promote access to water with the Hippo Roller: http://givewater.hipporoller.org/david-barnard
